Tips on using the Tutorials:
  • File>New means select "New" from the menu "File".
  • Flash uses "action scripting" it is assumed for most of these tutorials that you know how to input actions.
  • The tutorials are labeled with one of three user levels, it is recommended that you complete the lower level tutorials before moving on the the next level as the tutorials build upon one another.
  • There are two types of comments used in our tutorials, "Comment:" is a Flash Comment Action. Lines beginning with "//" are for clarification for the line immediately preceeding them and are not intended to be inserted as a part of the action script.

These tutorials were written specifically for Flash 4 and 5. New tutorials are not being authored for MX versions of Flash. These tutorials are provided for archival reasons. Many of these tutorials are still effective, but with the radical changes to ActionScript, there may be easier ways to achieve some of the same effects. - DE
